Fiberglass Tubs & Showers Maintenance
Fiberglass Tubs & Showers
Care & Cleaning
It is helpful to wax your fiberglass units with simple car wax one or two times per year. This will have the same effect as on a car, the water will bead up and aid in preventing soap build up. We recommend that you do not wax the floor on the tub/shower. It could make the floor very slippery!
Use caution when cleaning your fiberglass tubs and shower stalls. Not all products have been tested on all manufacturers units and materials. Certain products have listed on their label "safe for fiberglass units", however there are certain units that even a mild abrasive can "bleach" the color off.
Cleaning Tips
- Wipe out bath or shower after each use with a soft cloth or squeegee.
- Use only a mild detergent (such as dishwashing soap). Abrasive cleaners will scratch the surface.
- Avoid detergents, disinfectants, or cleaning products in aerosol cans.
- DOW Scrubbing-bubbles© will cut through soap build up. It also disinfects and has been found to be safe on finishes.
